Bruce Ekhoff was a carpenter, roofer and framer who had worked in the Peoria area since 1974. Having previously served his country in the U.S. Navy and then as a Peoria County Sheriff's Deputy, he always knew his real passion was the construction business. He left the Sheriff's Department in 1974 and went to work for Custom Builders. He began working with a partner but eventually went out on his own, changing the name of the business to Bruce Ekhoff Builders, Inc. Bruce's reputation in the industry has always been that of integrity and excellent workmanship, and we continue to pursue those qualities today.
In 2005 Bruce hired Dustin Falkingham to assist in sales and product management. Dustin, 31 at the time, had ten years of experience in the industry as both a sales representative and business manager. Having worked as a laborer in roofing and siding from the age of 15, Dustin learned the business from the ground up and brought a wealth of experience with him when he joined Bruce.
Bruce and Dustin's working relationship grew to one of mutual respect for each other's abilities, faith, and devotion to family. Together they steadily expanded the business until Bruce retired in 2015. Bruce had the confidence and trust in Dustin to not only lead the business going forward, but to also continue upholding the traditions of quality and integrity. Though Bruce is enjoying a much deserved retirement, he still serves as a part time consultant.
Dustin and his wife Bridget reside in the Pekin area and enjoy spending time with their seven children, their beautiful granddaughter, and their dog Jack. They are active in the community and their church. Bridget actively raises money for St. Jude, participating each year in the annual Peoria to Memphis Run. When time allows, they also travel to Haiti to engage in mission work.
It is our desire at Ekhoff Builders to conduct our business with honesty and integrity. We are proud to carry on Bruce and Rose Ekhoff's legacy and we hope we have the opportunity to serve you in the future!
